A small study found positive value to allogeneic mesenchymal stem cell injections as a treatment for chronic elbow tendinopathy. This study only involved 12 people and had no placebo control group, so more research is needed. The patients were followed for 52 weeks and the safety/efficacy data looked promising. Allogenic treatments have the advantage of not needing to biopsy the patient to collect stem cells (instead, the cells come from a donor).
